Porta Potty Rental FAQ: Redwood City

Answers to common questions about renting portable toilets in Redwood City. Not covered here? Call ☎ us.

Can I put a porta potty on the street outside my Redwood City home?

A unit in the street or on the sidewalk is in the public right-of-way, which can require an encroachment permit from the city. Most homeowners use the driveway or a side yard instead.

I'm hosting a party at Courthouse Square. Who do I talk to?

Courthouse Square events are booked through Redwood City's Parks, Recreation and Community Services department. Once you know your approved layout, call us to plan restrooms and handwashing.

Do you deliver to Redwood Shores and Emerald Hills?

Yes. We serve Redwood Shores, unincorporated Emerald Hills and North Fair Oaks, and nearby towns like San Carlos, Atherton, and Menlo Park.

My Farm Hill lot is on a slope. Can you still place a unit?

Usually. Units need a level, firm spot, so we'll ask about your driveway and yard. If there's no flat ground, we can talk through a pad or another location.

How many units for a 150-person quinceañera?

As a rough rule of thumb, about one unit per 50 guests for a four-hour event, more if it runs longer or alcohol is served. That's usually three units, plus a handwashing station near the food. Call and we'll fine-tune it.

Do you service units at downtown construction sites on a schedule?

Construction rentals come with regular service visits. We'll set the schedule with your superintendent based on crew size.

How much does a porta potty rental cost?

It depends on the unit type, how many you need, how long you need them, and how often they're serviced. Call or send the quote form and we'll give you a price for your situation.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can, especially for weekend events in spring and summer. For job sites, a few days' notice is usually enough. Call to check your dates.

What does the placement spot need?

Flat, firm ground that the service truck can reach, ideally within a short walk of where people will be. Tell us about gates, slopes, and overhead branches.

Do you service units during the rental?

Yes. Longer rentals get scheduled service visits, and we'll set the frequency based on how many people use the units.
